Project Details

Resourcing for Marlborough’s wine industry requires housing for hundreds of seasonal workers each year. Hortus engaged APL to deliver over 160 purpose built accomodation units and facilities for their recognised seasonal employees (RSE).

Hortus was committed to ensuring their workers were comfortable and that the development replicated a home away from home while they are in NZ, with dedicated areas for sport, recreation and gathering. The focus for the site was on maximising comfort and enjoyment over maximising capacity.

This greenfields site is situated on State Highway 1 and lies the Opawa River, and the project had two key workstreams; roading and infrastrucutre and design and build.
